Q. WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE AFTER AN AUTO ACCIDENT?
A. The first step after having an accident you should contact your insurance agency and file a claim. Once a claim has been filed and a claim number has been given to you, either the insurance adjuster will come out to look at your vehicle or recommend you getting an estimate from a body shop. Then you should choose a qualified body shop facility of your choice.

Q. HOW DO I GET A CLAIM NUMBER?
​A. When you call to report the accident to your insurance company, they will issue you a claim number at that time. J & S Automotive will need that claim number in order to obtain the insurance estimate or for additional damages if necessary

.Q. CAN I CHOOSE THE BODY SHOP OF MY CHOICE?
A. Yes, by Louisiana State Law, you can choose the repair shop of your choice to fix and repair your vehicle.

Q. WHO WILL PAY FOR THE TOW BILL?
A. Once your vehicle has been towed to our shop, J & S Automotive will pay the towing company direct which in turn will be reimbursed by your insurance company to us.

Q. ARE YOU OPEN ON SATURDAY?
A. No, our office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Please call 225-749-2748.

Q. DO I HAVE TO USE ONE OF THE REPAIR SHOPS MY INSURANCE COMPANY RECOMMENDS?

A. No, J & S Automotive will work with any insurance company to insure your vehicle repairs.

Q. WHAT IF MY INSURANCE COMPANY'S ESTIMATE IS LESS THAN THE REPAIRS THAT NEED TO BE DONE ON MY VEHICLE?
A. J & S Automotive works with many insurance companies daily, we will contact your insurance company for additional damages found on your vehicle. (This is called supplemental damages)

Q. WHAT IS A DIRECT REPAIR SHOP?
​A. A body shop that works directly with the insurance company is considered a Direct Repair Shop. A preferred shop writes the estimate, order parts and repairs your vehicle without waiting for an insurance adjuster. The insurance company monitors the shops to ensure quality repairs.

Q. WHEN WILL PARTS BE ORDERED?
A. All parts are ordered prior to your scheduled repair date. If your vehicle is found unsafe to drive, J & S Automotive will order parts as soon as possible. Ordering parts in advance will provide a faster turn around time.

​Q. WILL THE PAINT COLOR MATCH?
A. J & S Automotive has invested in the lastest paint system available. We upgrade technology and equipment to ensure vehicle paint matches. We take pride in our ability to match factory finishes

.Q. HOW DO I GET A RENTAL CAR?
A. Check your insurance policy to make sure you have rental coverage and limits on your policy. We can assist with rental car needs. All you will need is your claim number.

Q. WHAT ARE BETTERMENT CHARGES?
A. Parts that wear out and need replacement with time and use (such as tires, batteries, suspension parts and faded paint) are subject to betterment charges when they are replaced during the repair process. These charges are determined by your insurance company and based on actual miles of your vehicle.

​Q. WHAT IS A DEDUCTIBLE?
A. This is the amount that you are responsible for determined by your insurance policy. When your claim is paid, your insurance will withhold the deductible amount from your final payment. Your deductible amount is due when your vehicle is completed.

Q. DOES J & S AUTOMOTIVE WARRANTY THE REPAIRS ON MY VEHICLE?
​A. Yes. J & S Automotive, LLC guarantees to repair free of charge any defects of workmanship of repairs stated on the Repair Invoice. Warranty that our facility provides also covers such things as painting-related priming and paint work. Ask our service tech for more information on what or what not is included in the J & S Paint and Body Repair guarantee or Limited Lifetime Warranty. OEM, Non-Original or After Market parts are subject to guarantee of that supplier.Q. HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN MY VEHICLE IS DONE?A. You will be notified by phone when your vehicle is ready to be picked up. Feel free to call us during the repair process if you have any questions or concerns.

A. We accept all major credit cards except American Express. 

We accept insurance checks, cashier checks, and cash. (WE NO LONGER ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS)
